The object of the formation of the A.I.A. is to provide tied or exclusive Insurance Agencies with a secure and professional outlet to ¨broker¨ their client’s requests for insurance and still retain the goodwill of the client as well as get some remuneration for doing so.
The A.I.A. is able to conduct this kind of business as we are a licenced referral centre and NOT an insurance broker or comparison Website.
BENEFITS.
The Association of Insurance Agents provides you with an opportunity to join an exclusive network of Insurance Agents that will provide you with quotes and insurance products that you would not, under the current laws in Spain, be able to access or offer your clients.
A tied insurance agency is an exclusive Insurance Agency. As a tied insurance agent working in Spain, you are not permitted, under current Spanish Insurance Law, to sell any other insurance products unless you are an Insurance Broker or have specific permission from your insurer to do so. Some Insurance companies will permit some specialist covers if they are not able to provide that service themselves and if there is no conflict of interest.

By joining the Association of Insurance Agents, you will be joining a recognised, professional body that is here to enhance, improve and support your business.
The Association of Insurance Agents will provide you with outlets to legally obtain and conduct ‘other’ insurance business without creating a conflict of interest with your existing insurer.
Example:- A new or existing client requires insurance for their 18 year old son’s scooter. Your insurer may not provide an insurance policy to cover young drivers or scooters. Under normal circumstances you have no alternative but to decline that business.
The Association of Insurance Agents is the intermediary between our exclusive Insurance Agency members. By submitting your insurance quote directly to the A.I.A. you will be offered a competitive quotation that you can then offer to your client.
The A.I.A. uses a referral service that can fulfil just about any form or type of insurance and therefore provides you with an outlet to ensure that you can at least quote for any form of insurance. It’s then up to you to persuade your client to take the policy. You retain the client and have added value to your portfolio.
The Association of Insurance Agents works directly with insurance agents and we not available, nor do we provide any insurance quotations to the general public and we are not an insurance comparison website.
BRINGING BUSINESS TO YOU.
The A.I.A. also provides insurance business directly to you. By becoming a member, you are automatically included in the Insurance Network Hub and when requests for quotations are received from anyone in your local area that cannot be fulfilled by the member making that referral, you will be asked to provide a quotation. (This is subject to your Insurance Agency being able to provide such cover) If your quotation is competitive and acceptable by the client, you will be required to complete that business under the A.I.A.’s Code of Conduct and you will get paid an agreed commission amount.
